These two calligraphy works were created for my husband and his friends’ company. They founded the business shortly before the COVID pandemic, and like many entrepreneurs, they faced years of uncertainty, pressure, and challenges that tested both their resolve and their faith in what they were building.
The first piece reads:
本本分分處世，勤勤勉勉謀生
Conduct oneself with honesty and propriety; make a living through diligence and perseverance.
The second piece reads:
堂堂正正做人，踏踏實實做事
Be upright and honourable as a person; be steadfast and conscientious in your work.
These words were chosen because they reflect the spirit with which the founders have approached both life and business. They are not slogans of rapid success or overnight wealth. Rather, they speak of character, integrity, hard work, and the quiet determination to keep moving forward, even when the road is difficult.
Today, as the company begins to enjoy the rewards of years of dedication, these calligraphy works stand as a reminder of the values that carried them through the hardest times. Success built on integrity and perseverance is not only more meaningful—it is also more enduring.
